Alpha
Behavioral Health Services (legally Alpha of San Diego,
Inc.) is a nonprofit 50l(c)(3) social service agency that
was founded in 1971 by volunteers from churches in Mid-City
to provide counseling (to homeless and substance abusing
youth.) Located in North Park California, AlphaBHS provides
a wide range of behavioral health counseling and psychological
services in English and Spanish to over 600 clients annually.
For
almost 20 years, AlphaBHS has been providing Social
Services Counseling and Therapy services provided by intern
and/or trainee clinicians under the supervision of AlphaBHS’s
Clinical Supervisor. The interns/trainees are
recruited through local universities and training programs,
working towards their licensure as Marriage and Family
Therapists (MFT) or Masters in Social Work (MSW).
Psychological Services are provided by board certified
psychologists.
In
addition to accepting Medi-Cal, Medicare, California American
Indian Recovery (CAIR) and other insurance plans, social
